What has the world come to?

So I remember that somewhere I posted that I would be back soon. Instead of that I get to explain a story: as I leave my school, tired as tired can be, a police officer walks up to me, and they've blacked off the main street because some guy was sitting in his front yard with a shotgun. It's been about an hour now, and I'm just starting to head home. What has the world come to, in which people hold guns in their yard and whole streets being blocked off?

EDIT: Crap, gotta go to class.

jesus
you live in america right?
what is this crazy doing!?

In cases like this it's usually safe to say that the person is probably under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol.
Posing no real danger if he was, since his aim would be greatly affected by both.
If the man felt threatened there was probably a, at least sort of legitimate reason.
But chances are he was most likely under the influence.
If he's an older man it's standard, since he'd have grown up in a different time. Where that was acceptable~

D: Sorry you had to be late coming home!

Wow, that's... you don't like in the southeast, do you? Someone sitting on their front porch with a gun is kinda common down here. The cops usually don't get called unless shots have been fired.

California, Reyo, specifically in the suburban area

Hoo yeah, like night and day. It's one of the reasons I want to get the heck out of here and move out to the state you're in.

I have no answer what the world has come into (too much to explain)...Thats crazy though..Violence Is going to be everywhere and there's no stopping It. But you can live In a safer place to be away from It..

Where we live is rated as one of the safest cities in the US, though. Scary, eh?

☪ஐﻬ☽ Stuff like that doesn't bother me.
To me that is a common thing. What bothers
me is what people are actually capable of.
There is a really disturbing case of child
abuse in Flordia that made me think that
something like that can only happen in
America. I do wonder from time to time what
the hell is going on with this world we live
in. I swear there are more crazies out there
than there was a long long time ago >.> But
that might be because today we can easily
hear about them.

Did he actually fire the gun? Or is he just an old person rocking in his chair with that gun saying "YOU WHIPPERSNAPPERS NEVER GET ON MY YARD AGAIN!"

And btw, I would not use him driveway to turn around (he might shoot you)

OR maybe he was threatened and he has that gun saying BRING IT ON BITCHES!

Where I live we got a ton of problems from a kid who shot his sister to factories closing.
