Anyone else shake in their sleep? {Sleep disorders}

So I've done this thing since before I can remember. I'll be lying in bed, and it will suddenly feel as though the bed is shaking. Now, I've been in the same house for 18 years, and so I always thought it was just the washer or the dryer shaking the house (my house is like that -- if someone jumps in one room you can feel the tremors across the house). But now that I've gone to college and am living on the third story where the washer is off during the night, this is still happening and it's sort of weirding me out. I've been looking for it online, but there doesn't seem to be any professional information on the subject. Mostly there are casual forums talking about it, many of them wondering about demon possession and the like.

My mom says that this happens to her also, though she has only noticed it recently. One of my friends says it's a normal thing that people just do. (I thought it was the bed shaking, but apparently it was my body.)

So I just thought I'd ask if any of you have experienced this or something similar. Feel free to discuss other sleep disorders, too.

(I'm assuming this is the right place for this topic. If not, let me know and I'll see about moving it > <)

I twitch when my sleep, is that a disorder?

@ Echo : Well, if it a normal like your whole body jerks once then stops. Then that is normal. It is that your mind is actually going into sleep mode, but your body is still wide awake. Resulting a jerk to wake you up.

Yeah, we twitch in our sleep, sometimes because of dreams and things. But what I'm talking about is my whole body shaking like a massage chair or something. @___@

Do you physically shake, like are you bumping things or knocking them off the bed, or does it just feel that way? I get moments when it feels like my bed is wobbling or tipping but that I know is my head, probably something to do with bloodpressure or possibly pill side-effects. Been happening for some time. It's essentially one's awareness of where one's body and limbs are going on the fritz.

@Quiet: It's a physical shaking. Now that I know its actually my body doing it, I've been sitting up in bed and holding my hand/arm/other part against a stationary object, like the wall by my bed, and I can feel the tremors.
