They discovered God's Particle.

The Particle was nicknamed the God's Particle because it was thought that it would be impossible to find like God would be ( I was told this ). It's actually called the Higgs Boson. The particle is one of the eleven particles that created the universe and they have confirmed that they have indeed found it.
This is huge, I don't know if anyone understands that but something this big hasn't happened for 200 years and we're going to see massive changes within our lifetimes now because of this.

Here is an article about it. There are many other articles and probably videos as well.

Thoughts?

I WILL BE READING THIS TONIGHT.
*ish uber interested*

At least someone is. n__n
I find that a lot of people actually don't know about this... at all and that's just sad.

That's really interesting, because if they found it they can predict where it came from and where it's going...along with other stuff. It's amazing really :3

is this the one that they say will make drastic changes in our lives as what the mayans have predicted?
not a total obliteration of the planet earth though, just a change or something.

@ Keiko: I have no clue, where are you reading this? I know that it will make drastic changes in our lifetime, like... new means of space travel and a way to discover a new energy source.

well, I think I would have a better explanation if I'm at home. xD;
I'm at work and it's kinda hard to discuss things like these.

I heard that they were on the tail of finding it, but they actually found it? I was expecting another year until we heard "Were closer."

Funnily enough I hang out with a LOT of physicists so I heard about this immediately. It really does open some great doorways into research, theories and research for the field. And, just to clarify, it's not God's Particle, it's God Particle. I get lectured if I say it wrong, so there ya go.

I've no idea what the Mayans have to do with this(beyond being awesome themselves), but this will give us ways to explain things that we didn't have before without just saying: "Well that's what happens." Now we can say: "This is how it happens because of [this quantifiable, repeatable factor]."

Now if they can just get proper verification on the faster than light particles we'll be 'cooking with fire'! Between those two discoveries I'll demand all sorts of awesome science in the near future!
