Famous family members!
So today I was sitting here bored so I decided to go through my bfs family tree. This is when I found something out that was very interesting. My boyfriends Great, great, great, great, great uncle was William Shakespeare!! As for me on my mothers side I am descendent of Danish royalty lol.
So whats an interesting family member from now or the past? Related to any stars or famous people? |
All I know is that I'm related to both the Hatfields and the McCoys...
|
Oh wow...on my fathers side im related to McClouds that started the city that I now live in lol
|
Then again, most people who's roots lie in Virgina are related to the Hatfields, McCoys, or both...Lols...

there's nothing special about me since I don't have a family tree since it was destroyed about 50 years ago
|
my grandma played hockey for australia, and my grandad was the captain for the Aussie Over 50's lawn bowls team. my other grandad also ran in the olympics for 100m but he didn't make the finals, he did get to carry the olympic torch though :o

I wish my Family had a family tree :/
I believe my 2nd Aunt in some foreign Country that I keep forgetting the name to is compiling a tree together, but that's my dad's side of the family. I prefer knowing about my mom's side. |
My family has it's tree based in England (well, one side of it). I keep meaning to speak to the cousins there about it to find out where it will be going to once they pass it on to the next person. I do the odd bit of looking up but nothing immence yet. Ancestry.ca is too expensive. -.-
I know from the English family tree that my family came over to English with William the Conquerer; there's a lieutanant or advisor of some sort to Wellington in there; and the colonial line comes from the Frost family which also sprouted the poet Robert Frost, but that side stayed in the USA and ours went up to Canada as loyalists. There's some English aristocracy back there, some Earl of some sort, and a family crest that we can't find (con man got into my grandfather's stuff and we're worried he may have pawned some of the heirlooms. On my dad's side there's more English hoity toity, as well as a Danish novelist and Olympian. Not sure what else is there. It's not as well documented as my mom's side. Oh, and apparently the patron of the Danish chunk of the family bought a small town from the Danish King so that he could use the name as his own, since he got tired of everyone saying `from x`whenever they saw him. It might have been just the name but is sounds better this way. ;). |
My mom told me her cousin is Jim Caviezel, who is a movie actor. I never checked it out myself on our family tree, just took her word for it :p
|
Yeah, I'm not sure about the Frost thing either but it's plausible. The family split in 1783, I think, so there's a good chunk of time there.
|
I'm descended from William the Conqueror, so... Quiet, it would seem our histories have some ties. :P
I'm also descended from a handful of English monarchs and a Scottish knight. |
For me alot of my mothers side of the family is historic I guess you can say. Like Leif Eirikssen was my great x -- grandfather lol He was the first viking to land on Amarican shores 1000 years ago and even has a statue of him in north dakota at the Scandinavian heritage park in Minot lol
|
I am descended from the great explorer Leif Erikson. As well as three different presidents.

Only thing I know is that my great times 10 great grandmother was a Flapper and did smut clips on the side. I'm named after her. -,-' The Flapper part is cool, but I don't like being name after an old porn star. xDD

Are you kidding? 1920s porn is awesome!
...seriously there's something adorable and endearing and weirdly innocent about it. |
I've never watched 1920's porn before so I have no clue. xD
