migraines

so last night I was rudely woken at 3am with the worst migraine I've ever had. It was that bad it made me cry, I didn't have anything to take other than paracetamol which is crap but I've got a doc appointment this afternoon in about an hours time actually.

I'm still suffering the after effects ie migrain hangover
I was considering going to hospital but must have fallen asleep at one point.

So who else suffers these?
tell me your woes,
or remedies either way

I don't have migraines, but I have something similar to it... I would usually sleep. If it doesn't help, I try and massage my temples or take a cold shower.
As much as possible, I don't drink meds.

Hope you feel better soon, woop.

Most of the time when I get a migraine I take a couple of Excedrin migraine and add a little more caffeine to it. I also try to take a nap so I don't have to deal with the pain of it. I've never actually been to a doctor for them.

Oh wow. I glad you're feeling better!

I have GMD as well, I carry a bottle of aspirin around with me everywhere.
Right now I'm undergoing a wheat test to see if there is any improvement.

It takes three months as Gluten stays in your body for that long or something. Speak with a Doctor if you can, Migraines are not "just a headache"

I'll defiantly do that if I ever get health insurance again. I've had them since being a kid. My mom and younger sister also get them so I'm going to assume that its genetics.

Migraines are Genetic, according to my doctor and some websites I have looked up. Make sure whoever you go to realizes that it could be GMD. (Genetic Migraine Disorder)

I'll look into that. I've never heard of it before.

I used to get migraines a lot when I was little. I would have little bouts of them that lasted about a week, and they were very motion-sensitive, so I couldn't go to school or anywhere; I just had to lay in bed and have everything brought to me. I would only get up to the bathroom, and even that was torture. x_x I haven't had one in four and a half years though, so at least there's that.

Don't have any advice for you, unfortunately. Nothing ever helped me but waiting for them to go away. I hope you feel better soon.
