Assassins Creed 3

So they released an official commercial for Assasins creed three. The gameplay looks pretty solid and the Ubisoft site offers a reasonably priced preorder with all the DLC you would get in one of the special editions.

But the upbeat hip hop music on the commercial sounds disjointed and out of place. I understand the concept of the "coming home" theme but to watch something that is based on assassinating people and killing paired with cheery music seems. . . off.

Are you looking forward to this game?
How do you feel about DLC?
Do you think Ubisoft can make AC3 as great as AC2 was?
The Ezio storyline seems like it would be hard to outdo.

I love the different era it's set in.
And the Native spin on it~
I'm not a gamer, but my boyfriend is. I just watch. :p
But I do call myself a fan! And I'm looking forward to it.
He'll probably get some free DLC's from IGN. Lol.

Can't wait to somehow get it, but I've been too busy to think about it lately.

im not a big fan of it being set in america, im gonna assume thats mostly to appease the american market :s

It could be, but it could also due to the fact that the main enemy is the templars and they eventually formed the Freemasons. My bet is that this is the reason why they are following the path that they are.

I completely forgot about that.

Edit: I remember looking up the Freemasons a while ago...is the Assassin symbol also based on the compass?

Alpha 09-20-2012 12:31 PM

I know it is similar, but I'm not sure if it is based off of. The other theory could be that the freemasons were an off branch of the templars that the assassins supported against the main "secret" branch (setting this theory in the AC universe).

Okay, I apologize for the double post, but now that the game is out, any comments? I'm enjoying it thoroughly so far.

Pathosis 10-31-2012 12:22 AM

Boyfriend just popped it in a few hours ago.
Played it for an hour, it was awesome!
I love the gameplay and the animation.
I didn't want him to stop, but he was tired from a long day.
D:

He just wants to play as Conner now, not his dad. xDD

So true Ashy, so true. You started playing yet?

Lestrade 11-02-2012 11:28 PM

Connor (Conner?) is really silly-looking in that hood >.>

it's like the character designers were like "MUST WEAR WHITE HOOD" even though it doesn't fit with the setting at all

Alpha 11-03-2012 12:00 AM

Well, they worked it pretty well in my opinion. The eagle on the hood plus the other touches of Native American pieces to the traditional white assassin's "uniform"

I've played Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II, and they were both extremely fun. It was actually pretty hard to get used to II because they changed quite a bit about the game, but after playing it a little longer, I actually grew to love it a lot more than the first Assassin's Creed because they added so much more to the game, it was amazing.

I can only imagine how much they've added to Assassin's Creed III. I actually want to only play III; I'm not as interested in playing Brotherhood or Revelations.
