Default Events make me stay. :) #1
Not in the context that some of you may be taking that as. But...

Usually when I join an avatar such as Trisphee, and it's still pretty new/ in development, I usually just dissapear. Until I see that they have an event.

I usually just start posting on the forums for the items at first, but then other members start posting and then it just becomes alot of fun, and it makes me grow more & more closer to the community.

In alot of ways, avatar sites are like those neighborhood parties where the community gets together and gets to know one another, and become closer? Do you not agree?

They're great. :D

Once, I was scared away from a site due to event. XD It was so huge, so active that I didn't find anywhere where to join and start chatting, as I am shy in new places. XD But I returned later to the site and stayed because of a user run event. Ironical, isn't it? XD

Oh, yes. It's so hard for me to find a topic or a person to talk to during events xD. It's always so fast paced, and if you're not careful your topic usually ends up on like the 2nd or 3rd page. o.O

This is the perfect way to put it! I highly agree..they get everyone talking and chatting and mingling, even lurkers most of the time. And it's a good way to just kind of -see- all the other members, the more you see people the more you remember them and that's how a community feels like a community...

you could be in a thread where you've not talked to a single soul, but you've seen them elsewhere and read their words enough that you feel you know them, and vise versa.

I'm glad you're enjoying the event and I hope you'll continue to stay. :3

I agree!

I've actually met so many people that don't normally post in areas that I do, and they're all wonderful people! :3 I think, after the event is over, I will have to go visit all of them and make sure I keep in touch. In many ways, this event will have brought together users long after it's over. That's my favorite thing about small-site events. :3

I am sure you can find threads where it won't jump away from you, Vi. C:

Oh yes, I'm enjoying the central square and game sub-forum right now, since I think thats sort of an appropriate place to start off at, I'll probably ease my way into this forum probably tomorrow or later on. : P

Events are nice in that you can find more places to post since the site is more active, plus you can get some new event items, too.
Default #10
I agree, when I happened to log in today and saw the event I was like yay! XD
Default #11
Really? I've always shyed away during events when I'm new on sites. It's all just so fast and I'm worried about being ignored and having my posts swallowed up by everyone else's.

I'm fairly old on Trisphee though, so it's no biggie now, but if I was new I'd probably hate it.

Well, I figure that if I am ignored in debates at least I still get currency. Plus, I can always eventually find a hangout to chat in if want a reply.

I don't play at the game forum, I have been hanging around this forum mostly. XD Though, since I am also sick, I haven't been posting that much. D:

I've been a bit busy and distracted for posting much I'm afraid.

I'll have to see if I can remedy that tomorrow.

I do stay for the event sometimes. But when the events are too complicated and the site is crowded, it scares me away. This one is perfect, because it active but not too much. And the items are pretty easy to get.
Default #16
Yup! And I am almost done getting them, too. ^.^
