Default Packing for a trip. Weirdest or Favorite item? #1
Yup. I'm in a travel sort of mood, So! I'm asking what are some of the weirdest stuff you have ever packed for or after a trip!

Also some of the favorite items you have packed.

With me, whenever we come back from Puerto Rico there is a duty free shop in the airport and my mother always buys at least a hundred bucks in fancy booze. I like the fancy flavors. Green Apple!

Also. I went to Disney with my fiance and we bought so many of those pin trading mystery packages. We had so much fun with those goofy pins. He didn't want to pack them - he wanted to wear them! All... He's a weird guy. :)

I'm trying to think of a weird thing but - maybe I'll have a story like that when I come back form Japan if I go. <3

Not weird in itself, but I brought a colouring book back from Sweden. On the cover was a princess on a swing with a handlebar mustache. There were other pictures like oblong animals, people with arms coming out of odd spots on their bodies, and a bald headed person with a tiny man on his head, with a tiny mallet, hammering away on the guy to make a mo-hawk-like row of bumps like the ones you see in old cartoons when someone gets bashed in the head. At the end of the book is a picture of a vase with flowers and an apology note.

The most useful things I've brought with me when traveling have been the DK brand colour travel guides. They're heavy, but I would refer to them all the time to decide what I was going to do. I had the regular sized hand books for Ireland and Sweden, the little Top Ten books for Rome and Copenhagen, and an Italian phrasebook. Very useful things.

Hmm...my most valued posessions would be two books - one from Iran and the other from Great Britain - ancient history books.

I'd like to mention the Iron Giant momentarily - the only movie to make me truly cry... (Elsa from Frozen tried, but not quite - not saying it didn't leave a mark)
I carry a little figurine of him around...

I've already got a bunch of stuff to pack for friends, stuff they want from the US that they can't get in Japan.

Probably my favourite travel item that I have is the leather bound journal that I brought with me on all my trips. I was packing light, so I bought this journal for a stupid price because it had a cover flap with a tie and thick, unlined paper. It served as my travel journal, sketchbook, painting paper, and scrapbook. I wrote down what I did during the days, glued in token like stickers, receipts, or ticket stubs, drew or painted things that I had seen, wrote out little poems and things that came to mind as I was traveling around. It's full now, and I'm currently looking for another one. I'm hoping that I can find another journal of the same type at the store where I bought the first one, since I haven't been able to find any others with the right sort of paper.

I have packed a costume of a Megaman character into my luggage before. Helmets with weird accessories make packing difficult.

Costumes are always so weird to pack!

They are!

Totally worth it, though.

Too true. I'm wondering if I should pack any costumes pieces for my trip. Maybe a wig or two? ;)

Haha, maybe. I wouldn't pack the stuff unless you plan on actually wearing it. :P

I don't really travel very often, but whenever I do, I HAVE to take my favorite pillow... I've had it for years, and I don't sleep very well without it. I feel like a little kids admitting that, though... >.>'

Such an interesting topic...though since I am on the count down to my vacation time let me see.

For me it would have to be my radio or...My own towels...even though im in a hotel for 5 days I still take my own towels. Just the thought of another body on that towel but my own or the hubbys freaks me out....yes yes I hear the fight 'but they get washed.' So true they do but I just cant do it.

Lol. Poor Pinkie. You know those suckers get sterilized right? It's all good. My sister only eats, maybe four foods. Cheese pizza. Chicken nuggets.... wait... maybe only two.

Oh that remind me, pack kitkats when I get to Japan. They have some crazy flavors!
Espylove! <3 You are simply brilliant! <3
