It's the Chinese New Year on the fifth. Normally I would be doing some special lessons with my Chinese students in class but I no longer teach Chinese.

But I still want to have a good Lunar New Year. I hope you all do as well.

Good food. Especially dumplings bc those signify wealth. Even moreso bc Year of the Pig/Boar. Also New Yearâ€™s money!

Traditionally, little kids get new clothes, too.

Thereâ€™s a lot of red decorations everywhere. Red paper lanterns, red paper strips with â€œprosperityâ€ written on it, hanging from doors, that sort of stuff.

Granted, Iâ€™ve never actually /been/ in Taiwan on New Yearâ€™s.

Now I'm picturing that scene in Fruits Basket where Kagura beats up Kyo. :D

2020 may be a difficult year, but I know we can all get through it together.
