Honestly it's just about getting back in the groove. I cooked a lot as a kid and quit because of depression, funny thing is that now it's one of the few things that cheers me up anymore. Doing things from scratch. I fucking loved my home made meatballs. I have to get my link cord to transfer the photos and for some reason the pics from my phone of my rubarb pie still won't send to e-mail.
Tonight I boiled rice, baked some chicken nuggets crispy and then made this... chicken gravy base sauce that I added a shit of seasonings to and a dash of the leftover sauce I made last night and some steak spices for a kick. Oh, and I melted some swiss cheese into the rice and it's shockingly phenomenal.
edit I let Sarah take most of the food I cooked last night to work to eat (the home made meatballs, fried rice and potatoes with onion and a dash of egg to soften it up and a butter and egg glazing on the meatballs to give it that nice shine and crisp at the top and a modification on the american understanding of "swedish meatball" sauce. Like I bought a spice packet to start with and it was awful, so I just made my own sauce out of it. Creamy with a bit of a kick, not too much tho' 'cause my mouth swells up) and she had workers doubling back to ask her what the hell she was eating because it smelled delicious.
