I know exactly what you mean. In regular school I didn't make any friends, not only becuase I wasn't in the popular group, but becuase I really didn't wanna be friends with them.

Then I went to Pickaway Ross Career and Technical Center, and it as so great. I made so many friends and wasn't afraid I'd get shunned if I spoke out. Hell, I was even elected Prom Queen when at my old school I wouldn't have even went to Prom.
Best choice of my life so far.

I feel so out of place. xD I have pretty much been going to artschools all my life and made friends what many consider nerds in highschool.

I did not have a normal high school either but most of my friends i have now are either from cons or college <3

xD I think after middle school, I didn't concern myself with everyone else's opinion. And I think it kind of worked in my favor, since I guess I subconsciously started a trend of wearing two different shoes every day roflolol
Also used to dye my hair crazy colors like every couple weeks.
Only thing I hated that was school-related was graduation; I mean, I wore a corset and a skirt, and fishnet and crap, but this bitch had a problem with my combat boots and told me that if I didn't change them, I wouldn't get my diploma.
So I had to borrow my mom's shoes ( I have small feet =A=; ) and she had to go barefoot. >__>

Jeeze XD, they did not have a problem with us wearing anything we wanted. They were more worried about our families not being classy and yelling and screaming.

Woot Anime art kids are the best though I was a theater child until 10th grade.

I used to dye my hair crazy colors too. I don't really anymore, I just prefer natural. IT was fun while it lasted.
As for graduation, lol! I wish I coulda seen.

Oh another school around here also barred a guy from getting his diploma because his family was too loud. That was actually on the news. OTL
I'm surprised they didn't say anything when one of my friends was up on stage giving a speech and I was doing mockingly provocative things in his line of sight to try and mess him up. xDD

And it's hard to tie back when it's too hot, since even though I've dyed it a ton in the past, it's still so damn soft that ties wont even stay in unless I have like three of them. -___-
