so, in light of this being the month for just such things what is your favorite creepypasta and why? (feel free to provide a link or youtube vid)

This site is a great place for creepypasta and there are quite a few gems in it (though some are lackluster).

My favorite creepypasta is one I can't find right now because the site on which it's on (which isn't the site I linked to) seems to be down, every link sends me to a site with the story of Candle Cove.

"Creepy pasta"? You mean, like, the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

Fauxreal: It's derived from "copypasta" (itself derived from "copy-paste" implying that it's stuff that gets copied around and reposted everywhere) + "creepy".

@Fauxreal: Creepypastas are short (mainly) scary (or not so scary) stories which are posted on the internet, though some creepypastas can also be, more or less, fabricated urban myths/legends which have become extremely popular (ex: Slenderman, Jeff the Killer, Smile jpg, The Rake, etc.).

Some can be pretty lackluster but some others are fantastic reads which can really engage the reader (this goes for quite a few of the long pastas but can also apply to some of the short and medium sized ones).

The themes can rage from anywhere from sci-fi to supernatural to realistic scenarios. Most creepypastas are normally written as a POV but there are a few which are written in a third person perspective as well :3.

'my brother' was really boring and too full of weird rambling holes for me XD and eyeless was derpy but the fun sort of derpy to tell to a kid

I liked "My brother" because the situations and scenery within it were disturbing or intriguing, but I can see why people won't like it. I just liked how it was, more or less, a collection of stories within a story.

I have majorly been put off Slenderman myself, I can't find him creepy anymore. The Rake on the other hand is still utterly terrifying, if you haven't read it yet I highly suggest it if you want something unsettling. This short video in tribute of the story is even creepy (in a sort of cheesy way). e~e

Not sure? The closest thing I think I watched was Marble Hornets unless that is what you were talking about?

I like the screen cap pastas.. xD they're creepier. xD
