Wow... I had no idea. I haven't participated in an event there in sooo long. The Halloween Events were always my favorite, I can't believe they would do that!
Yeah, I just pretty much stay for my friends and my treasured items. I don't even like the way Tektek's going. At least with their tagging system. I'll probably in the future just save any avatars I want to keep.

It's even worse since the staff isn't talking to the users anymore. People are also being banned just saying the CEO's name in a post. Even though Gaia was the one to tell us the name in the first place. Oh, and it's been pretty much confirmed that Gaia doesn't give a damn about the economy or the community anymore and only care about meeting their quota for the month.
But, if I'm the only one left standing,
I will not be afraid to fight.
I'm breaking out of here tonight.
Uh huh. So now Gaia is a dictatorship-actually-communism-in-practice? -squints- I mean, TBH, I don't see the problem with people bashing the staff -- to me, that's a sign that shit needs to get changed. But then again, most staffs are really touchy about being complained about. I've heard that over in certain sites, people will pounce on you if you so much as criticize a donation item.
Being a former staff member and user of Gaia, I am really sad to hear it has gone that far downhill. I'm glad I left when I did, but I still have some feelings of nostalgia for the days when Gaia was relatively new. If only I had a time machine so I could go back to 2005.
Galla: always, all the time, a galla has no tolerance for it, and galla has all the tolerance.
I always took it as namedropping had to have intent behind it.
In my opinion, if you're giving feedback on the site, saying 'the GM' is the same as saying the person's name. If your intent is not to bash the person directly, but to offer feedback on the way said person has taken the site in a polite or constructive manner, then I would not call that namedropping and it would not be removed.
Now, saying that <so and so> is a <insult here> would be namedropping as well as flaming, depending on the severity of the insult.

I joined back in late '05. I got a CoCo Kitty when it came out. ha. (I miss it ; u ; ) and I do really miss what Gaia was. That is what I think of when Think of it, not the mess it is now. some sites do get really shity about the name dropping thing.
I am one that likes it when sites trust their user base a bit more and have less rules so much as letting the culture of the established community rule over what is right and what is wrong. I've always believed that is the best way to do it. Gaia, Solia and Menewsha have some of the worst communitys & staff because of how hard they police there ToS and the have a metric ton of stuff that's just nitpicking the users at some point.
"Selfish, I suppose. Not to want to spend my entire life screaming on the inside."
I agree on Menewsha nit-picking completely. I mean I posted an rp search. Posting bump was against the rules. Because it's spam. Posting I'm still looking would also be spam due to the fact that there's this thing you can switch to Inactive vs other things, so unless it's been marked inactive (by you) it's also spam to say you're still looking.
Now, Solia? I've had no problem except the item that a user entered in design contests on it and Syndrone Online...from what I understand, no one replied to Syndrone so they went and removed the item...and I don't have the gold for it on Solia. Though that isn't Solia or Syndrone's fault.
