I suppose. . .the middle bit looks less stark than the top and bottom bits but also that is ok??

The (relatively) flat purple from the cape might be what's throwing you off; everything else is more gradient-y.

Maybe. I like it better with the cape than without, but there might be a better cape.

I think maybe it's the background. Something about the avatar just feels off and I don't know how to fix it :(

I agree with what Espy said. And also, the large block of pink in the background as well as the lack of ground seems off to me, especially with the stars and foreground foliage.

I don't think I have any appropriate ground items, but I'll try to play around a bit

Yeah, we don't really have a lot of ground items that would go with your color scheme.

Very pretty! And the yellow clouds tie in the colors on the skirt more.
