Even nonsense is challenging. I can talk coffee, but usually no one is interested. My saved coffee places is now at 86 though, and I've only visited a portion of them.

i could listen to you talk about coffee ^^ what is your flavor of choice? how do you feel about chicory or milk in your coffee?
Default #50756
Why is ordering coffee so difficult? Why can't I just say "load me up with milk and sugar, I don't actually like coffee. Smallest cup ya got." No, they want you to know what the heck you're ordering.

You'll always feel it, but can never see it. It's strong but shatters easily. You can give it away but never hold it. What is it?

I usually go for Americanos at coffee shops. If they offer Chemex, then sometimes that to mix it up. Especially if they have good beans. Otherwise, I just experiment with beans from everywhere using an Aeropress at home. Desperately need to upgrade my grinder, though. No milk or sweetener. Chicory, I've only had it in cold brews and it ruined the flavor for my sense of taste. So that familiar with it in other ways. Chicory is pretty common in teas though, right?

i've not heard of a cold chicory coffee x''D what a thought!

i'm not sure. i know you can get a chicory tea but i'm mostly familiar with it as a wildflower and wasteweed. it's such a pretty colour<3

do you like instant coffees or are they too artificial for you?

what is chemex?

all i know is that semi is a bastard at times.
percival is busy being queer as hell. he was also here.

I'm not at all opposed to instant or other types. Sometimes when the budget doesn't allow for beans, there's a store brand of instant I'll use that's surprisingly decent.

Chemex is a type of pour over. What sets it apart from others is the filter you use with it and the way it drains. Most of the oils are removed during the process so it winds up bringing out more tea like qualities in the coffee. I tend to prefer retaining as much of the oils as possible and stick to using metal filters, so that's why it's a nice contrast. Oil can make a surprising difference in flavors.

Plus it's really nice to look at.

Oh hey, I own one of those. I didn't know it had a fancy name though. Ours just came from Target.. I bought it for my husband last year. Pour Over coffee is waaay better than regular coffee, that's for sure.

It is snowing really hard here and my internet keeps cutting in and out. If I accidentally double post just ritualistically sacrifice me.

i dunno, that icing looks like it's gone hard. the ritual sacrificing knife might not go through right
Default #50767
The Target one might be different, it's more bulbous? I'm not sure if it drains differently, I think the Chemex has a part that affects how it flows.

Can you mail some snow, please?
Default #50768
Considering I only drink coffee when I have mixed it with cream and hot cocoa mix... I couldn't tell you if there is a taste difference anyway. I'm not even supposed to have caffiene. XD

We tried mailing snow once. We packed dry ice around it. It worked alright, but it was still not in great shape when it got where it was going. Generally it just ends up being a baggie of water in a slightly damp box.

Darn... choco figured out my armor-icing trick.
