Default #289
Olivia laughed, somehow not disturbed by his noticing the the size diffrence of their hands. She was sure he was much to trusting to think anything of it. "You're hands are normal, mine are just small." She assured him. Taking Saya's hand in both of hers, Olivia spread his fingers apart, feeling their roughness against her own smooth hands. Her fingers ran along the creases in his skin and traced the veins she could see. Then she gripped his hand a little more tightly, though not hard enough that it would hurt, and felt the bone beneath his skin. That was what she needed, having the basic anatomy of it would help. Though she took her time exploring his hand, enjoying the feel of his skin against her own. "I suppose I just... well, I'm kinda tiny for a guy, aren't I?"

"A little, but it's not the end of the world, am I right?" Sayaku grinned. "I'm short for a guy too- though the rest of me is apparently normal. Maybe it's from all the cattle herding. But I mean, my sister is much smaller than you still, so that's gotta stand for something...Well, maybe not. She's tiny enough in weight to be a kindergarten kid, and last I checked she's only a year younger than us."

Olivia's head snapped up from looking at Saya's hands, her own hands freezing in place. "She's only a year behind us? But she's so tiny" Olivia blinked, shocked, and then chuckled. "Well, looks can be deceiving, can't they?" She looked back down at Saya's hand and continued her movements. Her hands felt tiny in comparison to his, as if his could swallow hers whole. Something about that thought made her feel... strange inside. She felt safe in a way, having him here, sharing a room with her. Which was odd, considering he was male and she should feel like she was walking on hot coals by sharing a room with him.

Then an idea came to Olivia. Since she already had Saya's hand she decided she would show him something one of her sisters, who happened to be studying massage therapy, had taught her. She pressed her thumbs and fingers into relaxing points in his hands feeling the muscles loosen, become less tense. Then she let her hands gently massage his hand.

Somehow, the relaxation exercise his hands were being shown made his face turn slightly red- it tickled to some extent, but at the same time it was firm enough not to. "Olive, how does doing that help you with your drawing? Somehow it seems more like you're worried about my touching my drumsticks again..." He laughed slightly, though it was a tad more awkward than usual. "Yeah, sis is pretty surprising that way. But... Don't tell her that part, kay? She's really self-conscious when it comes to her size and stuff."

Olivia smiled, catching the awkward tone in his voice and laugh. So her did realize she was a girl, if only a tiny but, on a subconscious level. Either that or he just felt awkward about the massage, but she preferred the first one. "It doesn't. This is something my sis taught me. She used to do it for me all the time when my hands would cramp up from drawing or painting. I figured it might help you too." She looked down as if focusing on the massage. When in reality she was trying to keep a grin from her face. This small victory made her want to test the boundaries more, but she knew that she shouldn't.

"I think my sister would find it much more useful then I do. My hands are all callused and stuff from farm work and various instrument lessons. Certain things aren't easily felt anymore I guess- though it does keep the muscles from cramping, that's true. I'm worried my sister might need this more. It seems like it helps promote blood flow more...She could use better circulation, I bet, considering how much extra blood she has." He laughed a bit, apparently no longer troubled by the scenario.

"Calluses don't really effect this. All that matters is if it feels good. If it does, it does it's job." She told as she neared the end of the massage. "I'd be happy to do her hands if you want. Or I could teach you to, if you think she'd be more comfortable with that." She finished out the hand massage with a gentle movements and slowly withdrew her hand. "Other hand?" She asked.

"Depends. Do you need to do both hands for your artwork?" He looked at his friend curiously. "At the moment, I think one hand is fine otherwise. I'd rather wait for now. I'm not exactly used to such things and it feels sorta awkward."

"Oh, right, sorry. I suppose I'm a little too used to those kinds of things," She said in a cheery voice as if she were not bothered. I truth she felt a sharp pang in her chest. Saya had said he felt awkward and Olivia was pretty sure that meant he didn't like her touching him. That, or he did like her touching him and that's what made it awkward, but she didn't want to hope for that.

She stood, got some paper and a pencil, and sat back down. Carefully she began sketching a hand a smile growing on her face with each pencil mark. "There... that's better." She said triumphantly.

"Can I see when it's done? I wanna see what my own hand was able to help with." Sayaku grinned, meanwhile pulling out a piece of paper and starting to write something on it- this time a letter. "I almost forgot to write my parents. They may talk on the phone sometimes but they love letters 'cause of how old-fashioned they are. Mom used to wait at the mailbox each day for the mail."

Olivia pencil sketched roughly against the paper, and the familiar sound of pencil strokes make her feel at ease. "I like letters. I used to get some from Grammy- er Grandma - and they always spelled like her house. Clove and nutmeg." She smiled at the memory. Then she examined her rough sketch. It was Saya's hand, though originally she had just wanted to use his hand as a reference. The fingers were spread as if reaching for something, the muscles of his hand and what could be seen of his arm were clearly displayed. Olivia grinned. "I've been trying to get that pose right for the longest time." She turned the paper so Saya could see more clearly.

"Looks like you've been drawing this for a good amount of time. It's really well done." Curiously, he looked at his own hand and splayed his fingers much like those in the drawing. "Jeez, it's practically identical... I don't know if that should make me happy or nervous. Eh, happy for you makes more sense." he chuckled a bit, smiling. "Ah, really? Gram lived in our house when she was alive so we never really had a different smell. Our house always smells of the coal oven and fresh plants of various kind, which is normal for a farmhouse. Uncle's house smelled of herbs thanks to sis, though...Usually in a bad mix."

Olivia laughed. "Nervous? Why would it make you be nervous?" She looked at Saya curiously. "Yeah, you helped a lot. Thank you."

((tiny post is tiny hehe ^^; ))

"Because it'd make me wonder if somehow I secretly came out of the picture rather than the opposite." He grinned, laughing clearly. "Sorry. Actually I only thought of the word nervous because I was having trouble thinking of the right word."

"Well, I don't think I'm creative enough to make someone like you, so I think you're safe." Olivia said with a laugh. She smiled and set the drawing down. Leaning back, she raised her hands over her head and stretched. The ends of her shirt came up just above her stomach, showing a sliver of smooth skin. She made a satisfied noise. "I think I'll got take a shower now."
Default #304
Sayaku had noticed the sliver of skin, which somehow left him in a curious state he couldn't explain. However, he paid no heed to it, isntead looking up at the bed above him to trace some of the lines in the wood again. "Go ahead. I'll go in after you. Don't stay in too long or you'll get dizzy, though."
