I was totally right at the very beginning. xDD

I am a little disappointed it's WAR again, not like, knight tournament, or some game tournament, since we had the same thing not so long ago... I hope every bigger event we have is not a war. xD;
But other than that, it's nice, and I guess I can RP with it, too.

Well, the decision was made due to a number of factors. Most significantly is that the plot we already knew we wanted to do worked out this way; second place to that was the incredible popularity of the battle system last time. So we decided that we have something we know works and we can present it to you guys in a way that should hopefully be interesting and exciting -- and I think we succeeded in that because we had record turnout last night while the story was unfolding. (Not the most simultaneous users, but we held 60+ users on for five hours straight when usually we swing down into the 30s by the end of the night.)

After a year, it would have felt better... I mean, 2 out of 3 bigger events have been wars now...
There could have been another user involving game instead, maybe? I know it is hard to code, but what if it had been knight tournament instead of war? I just don't like the concept of war so soon again. Maybe a whole different game, if possible.

Code was the reason we didn't try to implement something too significantly different. We're still in a bit of a pinch in terms of manpower (my interns keep vanishing on me! ;_; ) and we just didn't have time to implement and test anything too fancy -- we didn't want to risk blowing the site up like what happened with the Taskal War.

it could've even been red knights against blue, the same weapons, everything... just not war it self. D: I mean, it feels like nothing ever happens but war here... we mourn for dead, then we make many more dead. >3> and do the same again.
