A woman goes missing on a jungle expedition into western gorilla territory in the name of science, is rescued by a man who was orphaned as an infant and thus has no concept of civilization or his own humanity. His curiosity and desire to learn leads to a bloody betrayal at the hands of the expedition's crazy and obsessive guide, culminating in the ultimate clash between him and the uncivilized man.
