Square balls sound very odd and painful. I mean, can you imagine trying to play basketball with a square ball? Corners would be poking eyes out left and right.

Not to mention the whole square-ball-round-net problem.

there wont be a problem if the ball is much smller than the net :P

Do we know when they will evolve?

Kami is too tainted for this. Lucid, on the other hand, is a pure soul and thus will easily please the trisphee gods. Go on, Lucid ~ we're all counting on you. Sacrifice yourself so we can get our evo items x'D
