he turned away, somehow it was entertaining to see his mark on the other. "i think you are best in the current fashions, i want you to only wear french robes until holy day" he glanced back "barring your wedding day of course, best the bride not have anything to ruin her look"

Evan nodded, strangely happy that the Prince was making a personal request of him.
Though, he did wonder how the others in the palace would react to the mark upon his throat.

if he had seen the boy's happy face he would have changed his mind in a heartbeat, as it stood he did not see and so assumed the youth would feel the same way as all of his other conquests. "so it is settled, the horse is yours."

Evan smiled widely, but then his eyes darkened slightly. " Your Highness, there are two maids peeking through a split in the wood over there" he answered in a tone that only the Prince could hear.
He was afraid that they might have heard some personal parts of their conversation, but it seemed they hadn't, since once they figured out that Evan had noticed them, they broke into giggles and ran off.
Evans hand automatically shot to the mark on his throat.

"and the lad who has been lurking since i told you only to wear what i wanted you to wear, trust me i know all about our guests" he snorted "you are sheltered indeed, lets go back, this place is stifling" he walked towards even and passed close enough to graze the edge of his dress. "leave your drawers un-done and don't look at anyone, noone will look more than once i assure you"

Evan nodded, and left his dress the way it was. He was naturally very self conscious about the whole situation, but did as the Prince had instructed.
Perhaps he was slightly sheltered, he admitted that... But to hear it out of someone else's mouth stung slightly.

(and to hear it from such a sheltered boy too)

they went back to the boy's rooms, the prince with his head high and nose in the air and his bride bedraggled and shamed looking. true to the prince's words though many looked most looked away again and did not turn back, it was not an uncommon sight though the victim was an uncommon player

Evan had enough sense to look embarrassed about the whole event, he gazed at the floor the entire walk back, especially when he felt the eyes of others upon him.
Once they made it to his rooms, opened the door and invited the Prince inside.
Inside, Evan discovered a letter had been delivered to him while they were out.
It was from his family.
(Oh wow. LOL. Well, Evan isn't much of a boy is he?LOL)

he did not notice the letter until the other bade a beeline for it

Evan opened the letter with haste. His expression remained neutral, until he broke out into a wide grin. "My parents should be arriving sometime this afternoon" he admitted, sounding relieved.
With his Mother there, the problem of putting the dress on was solved.
He looked up and smiled at the Prince. "My secret is safe" he said with a relieved tone.

he nodded at the boy. he was relieved that the problem had solved itself though he found it strange that the boy's family was coming now instead of waiting for the mourning to end. he shrugged the thought away "that is good then"
