Poor DK! I would give you a job if I could

I'm having the same issue myself with jobs in academia. My aunt suggested I look into being a research assisant for a prof but those spots are reserved for students, and graduate students in particular. I'd have to be in school again to get a job like that and if I go back to school I'd rather not be working. :(

I don't like school but some times I wish to go back so I don't have to worry about a job

I go see a doctor on the 10th. Mom has me trying to sign up for SSI so wish me luck.

I hope my wrist and my asthma are bad enough

I've applied for SSI myself. I just wish something would happen to help me feel like everything I'm doing is worth it.

Supplementary Security Income...if I remember right. It's mostly for Americans who can't make enough income to live.

Edit: DK might be more right about what it stands for.

xD it has 2 different names depending on what 'branch' you get the money from. the one serra named might be the disability branch i'm going for *since i haven't worked enough to get social security income* xp

I don't know how much money you get from SSI maybe you could save some of it up and in another 5-10 years start your own business of some sort. . .

I suspected as much but wasn't sure. With my kidney transplant and my relatively young age I expect to be on disability at some point. Don't much like the idea but it's definately in the cards. I'd like to try and get some good income going while I can and hopefully save some. I've already cost the average taxpayer buckets in medical.

I plan to hoard away a lot of it >x<
