Some things I legit didn't know the name in Portuguese as a kid because my mom kept using the Japanese name.

My mom can't read kanji. They used to speak only Japanese when she was a kid, but it was like... rural workers who haven't been to school so it's not the same of today.

I've failed to retain most of my knowledge of Chinese characters from the twelve years of Chinese school I was put through :| Still speak it fluently, though. Would be embarrassing if I forgot that.
