I want to be able to have atleast some kind of language connection to my ancestors and my Irish heritage. I already know some German, cant speak it, but I understand bits and pieces of the written word.

Aye. I know short phraises etc, problem is knowing the spelling etc. I had tried learning Russian, but not having a Transliterated text its hard to practice translation.

@Cron: have you checked the library? I know that mine used to have audio language CD's ranging from the normal romance languages to Swahili and Gaelic. ... I'm suppose to be learning German so that when I go visit Coro we can go dance around Germany doing strange things and i will have the ability to at least order food xD.
