so that's what it does lol... I tried looking it up but it just said "white background" and never understood it until now

I was told it's a throwback to the beta when Trisphee had white backgrounds instead of teal.

It makes layering some items interesting too, like those with both a front and back layer, because you can cover up the back with the white background XD

I had a quick try but I couldn't really find any that worked in my inventory. xD
