You need to volunteer before before going into the kinda course you want to take?

It's more that volunteer or payed experience in the social services are really boosts your application (you need three references to apply to Social Work programs where I am). If you alreadyt have a BA, which I do have, you can enter into Social Work at the master's level but you need at least two years of pratical experience no matter what sort of BA you have.

If I decide to go for sociology, then I can probably get another BA in two years or so instead of four, since I have a lot of credits already from my first degree.

Wow that sounds like a lot. I have never heard of needing experience to get into school before.

Questing is going slow at the moment, but I'm not putting a lot of effort into it right now. :p.

Requirements for post secondary schools vary a lot, especially depending on what you want to do. For my english program all I had to do was hand them my transcript and say "let me in" in a reasonably polite fasion. Other schools like commerce or social work or library science etc. will have different requirements. Those requirements will also vary university to university, country to country, etc. It can require some reading and legwork to get all you need.

Haven't been here in a while. May as well say something. I got a call back for a job interview today! Yay! It's a temporary spot, just retail for halloweeen at a party supply store but that all I'm really after at the moment. Hooray for money!

Yeah. I think the fact that I put "can work weekends and evenings" probably helped me, though it too a week or so for a call back so I guess they were going through other applicants. There's another clothing store hiring that I saw yesterday. Might apply there too since I've worked in clothing retail before. Not that I'd like to do so again but I'm not going to be picky right now.

I wish I could be less picky. Stupid legs D: But the person helping me is confident I'll find something.

I would love to work in a Halloween store.

It's a party store actually, in general. They wanted seasonal staff for halloween and I expect they will be looking for more staff for Christmas and other winter holidays too. There's the potential to lead into a permanent job there but either way I'm happy with it. I migth go up north to visit my dad over christmas and see my new niece (one day old now!) and a temp job would be great for money in the meantime. The interview is Wednesday. Means I have time to recover from my surgery.

Anyone need some extra crytals? I have 12 and an extra Maikan's belt seeing as I didn't have enough for the matching daggers.
