Yay! I was thinking...the human be a somewhat noob at fishing (because in theory...anyone could do it...maybe not on a large scale, but do it. Because I could in theory get a boat and throw a net/use those box cage things)

I had it set in mind that the human would be a fisherman, which would give him a reason to be out on the ocean a lot, which in turn would cause him to start dreaming about what was living down deep within the ocean waters.
