o.O that sucks big time.. which store was it?

It was an independent discount bookstore.

The owner would buy up remainders and overstock and sell them in the handful of stores he had.

Ah yea.. if the big chain book stores are shutting down then independent ones will probably fall as well =/

Actually it was that the owner died and his son had other businesses or whatever and did not want to run it.

=/ why not sell it to someone who did want to run it?

*Shrug.* I guess someone else would not have the contacts to get the remaindered books to sell.

That plus it would be a hard business to keep up in a recession - and major bookstores closing, too.
