That depends on what your guarding, sometimes, and it depends on who you're guarding with. It's both boring and suspenseful to guard alone.

Prison Guard? That's kinda cool, unless you have a group that broods and doesn't do anything interesting. Even the "bad guys" are kinda better when they're doing something.

Well it's after lockdown right now, so they're all asleep. Or at least locked in their rooms and not bothering me

SO I'm assuming that you have the late night-shift. When would you get to sleep, anyhow? Is it during the day or do you only take the night shift once in a while?

I've been on night shift for as long as I've been here. I work a 12hr shift, get off at 7 in the morning.

Sounds like you get a lot of free time after lock down then. The only thing that really sucks about it is that you're stuck watching the cameras or patrolling the halls, so you can't fall asleep. How long have you been in your post?

Typically we do 6 hours in a tower and 6 hours as a "rover," patrolling the halls and things. We're shorthanded right now though, so I'm pulling 12 in a tower. I've got about four and a half hours left

It actually makes me wonder if there's instant netflix or something like that up in a watch-tower (unless you meant the main security room, when you said tower). It's like this: You guys need to keep an eye out, but without anything to pass some of the time, it could quickly become very dull, an then someone who lose focus and BAM. Someone got out of their cage. It's a constant worry right?

Yeah, there is nothing in a tower, not even a computer. We have two control panels to open doors and whatnot, and a monitor to watch the cameras in our hallways. Other than that we watch into the cell blocks or stare at the walls

Actually, we can't bring anything either. I have a cell phone XD it's probably the only way I maintain my sanity around here, my connection to the outside world

Well then...I geuss you can pace 'round the clock to pass the time (duh dun tss) but on a more helpful note, I have a puzzle.

There are 3 five-man teams.
You want to have them organized on three-man teams in 5 different events.
Here's the catch: you cannot have 2 people on the same team for two different events, nor can you have people on each of the 5-man teams on the same 3-man team for any event.
How would you organize them?
