I'd make inmates clean.

We have inmates that clean. Most of the stuff we do is just supervising the inmates that do the cleaning, however anything more difficult than mopping a floor (stripping and laying wax for example) is done by the guards.

That's just lame...

Damn, and I assumed Guards just... guarded things...

I have a very simple way of looking at things. I try to bee agreeable with everyone. If I feel they deserve it, I'm kind and respectable. A lot of the inmates like me because I don't treat them like crap. However, if they're an ass to me, I'm an ass to them. Its all depending on the situation.

Okay then you're one of the good ones.. a lot of the cops in my area are corrupt, and are dicks just to be dicks, in my old town I knew of them doing deals with drug dealers and such even.
They were the kind who loved to throw themselves around and the like :C

Yeah, unfortunately there are bad cops out there that give the rest of us a bad name. In my experience (and I've been in this lifestyle since I was 15), there are more good ones out there than bad ones. Just the bad ones get more attention

The cops let a wifebeater go scott free while kicking his hysterical wife out of the house, even when she told them eh did drugs and was a dealer (he was.. they both did drugs, and she was hysterical from the need for crack, but also because eh choked her) I would hear their fights all the time, and the cops'd do deals with him, and the other dealer on my street who was there before that. They never even were hush hush about their business, even Dx
In a town of only around 30kish, somehow it'd take the cops well over like.. an hour to get to anything nonlife threatening i f not more and still even up to a half hour if it's life threatening and I lived like... 4 blocks, maybe 5, from the station, too.

*ETA* This guy has been in jail for many years in the past, and has a warrant out for his arrest and they didn't even CHECK.

I know local cops that have ended up in jail due to drugs and such. Seemed like that whole department was corrupt. Fortubately they have a new staff now. I can't stand officers that do stuff like that. It gives all of us a bad name, and its not like we have an easy time of gaining public trust anyway...

But Syr is a nice person.. and I'm glad you're in there for the right reasons.. *huggles* I'm sorry to abandon you guys but I'm still sick, and need to try and get better before work Wednesday.. So.. I am gonna go sleep x_x
