Gizzie screwed up her wrist it's all swollen and black and blue and hurts like a mud and it might or may not have been from doing something stupid but I'm hopeing it's not injured that bad and stuff -.- I can't afford a dr ...........

If you can move your fingers pretty well and the wrist pain is more of a throbbing pain than it is sharp and sudden, it's probably a bad sprain. Apply an ice pack to help reduce swelling and try not to use your wrist as much as possible, but if the pain and swelling don't go down in a day or two, you might have broken or fractured it and should probably at that point figure out a way to see a doctor.

Gizzie, this'll sound strange, but it helps with pain. Find a lightly padded chair or stool and put your wrist on it. Then get someone to SIT on it.

And also securely (as tight as possible without cutting off circulation) wrap it in an ace bandage. It might hurt while wrapping it, but keeping it stable should help. And will also serve as a reminder that you're hurt and not to move it.

My mom had gotten her wrist broken while she was out of state, attending her mother's funeral about twenty five years ago. She saw a doctor in the area and they told her it was only a sprain, so she drove home, across six states, with just an ACE bandage around it. Went to her own doctor at home and found out it was actually broken in three places.

It doesn't seem to hurt much anymore so I don't think I hurt or broke or spained anything but yeah it's bruised.......I was fighting and i went to punch someone with my fist they moved and somehow I ended up punching a kneecap with my wrist with the strength of a fist punch


But it briused along the blood vessel lines too so I was worried I damaged them but then I would probably be dead or something

Pictures looks scary. A brace to make sure you don't bend/twist it very much is probably a good plan.

Yeah, I second the brace, especially if you can't afford a doctor. In case it is broken (which of course I hope for you it isn't) careless movements of the fractured part need to be avoided. (The fact it's already hurting less counts in you favor, probably the whole injury wasn't that serious...but you know, better be safe than sorry)

Witchchylde, I'm seriously impressed by your mother's driving skills. Has she always been a tough lady?

Oh yes, well she was a Depression era child so you know, had to be resilient and stuff. Plus she grew up Native American at a time when civil rights were still a thing of the future.
