I'm pretty sure I've had mild visual snow since I was a kid :o. I never knew it wasn't normal to see static all the time...I used to think that I had magical powers to manipulate energies in the air too x'D
...I thought mild after vision was normal too?
edit: but maybe I don't have visual snow and just see normal static. Having heavy visual snow sounds terrible.

Same here! I used to draw as a kid everything with dots because that is what I see. xD

I don't have visual static, but I have a couple permanent black marks on my line of sight. They used to drive me nuts when I was younger. I have a friend who can taste carpets by touching them with their hand.

o.O taste carpets... interesting.

My mom has those 'visual flies' as we call it here. They told her it was because of stress, but you guys were kids o_O

It's called Synesthesia, the tasting carpet thing.

Synthesia: 1. A condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color.
2. A sensation felt in one part of the body as a result of stimulus applied to another, as in referred pain.
3. The description of one kind of sense impression by using words that normally describe another.

For me, certain textures have a distinct mouth-feel and taste, even though I don't actually taste them. I experience the sensation of feeling those textures as though I'm tasting something metallic, usually coppery.
