It's called the "Masuda Method" and it's been around a long time. It's named after Junichi Masuda who wanted to give people a reason to want to connect with players from around the world. If you breed two Pokemon who come from games in different regions (e.g. USA and Japan) then there's an 8x greater chance of producing a shiny offspring. It's still only 1 in 1024 odds, but it's better than the 1 in 8192 odds that you normally have.

I found a shiny Nosepass the other day. ;o; I wanted to cry because of all the shiny Pokemon I could run into... it had to be that one.

I'd wonder trade them. All of them. Like I do with my hordes of bidoof that I catch.

Sometimes I feel bad about getting something cool for a bidoof....then I put another in on Wonder Trade.
