What kinds of crafts do you do? Do you live alone in such a big house? I live in a house with 12 bedrooms and it still feels too crowded with all the little kids running by and cutting me off. Lol

I read, almost every room is set up to plop myself down and read. I spend time reading to find out about things I am interested in. I "study" quantum physics by reading books and watching the science channel. I am now studying about Atlantis, I just read books, take notes like I'm in school and learn about things. I am interested in how civilization migrated to where they migrated to.

I also make jewelry with semi-precious stones. Mostly just for myself although I do sell it sometimes at a local spa which my friend owns.

I do live alone and I like it! hahaha

I like reading to learn to. Right now I am reading a book about Irish History. Quantum physics though? Wow! Impressive.

Its taken me a long to learn 0.01/10th about quantum physics, which I find fascinating. I am also very interested to learn more and more about multiverses, Planet 9, etc etc...so much to learn and so little time!

That stuff is way out of my league. I am into languages, world cultures and history as well as biology/zoology.

I... fell into a dark side of YouTube, and watched close to 100 documentaries. Some silly and blatantly dumb, some really interesting that made me wonder. It was mostly all about aliens, ancient cultures and history. It makes you ask yourself "What's is humanity's actual history?"

@Shamus those are good topics too though. World cultures (and the movement of civilization) and history. I am reading a book on Atlantis that is very good, called Atlantis: Insights from a lost civilization by Shirley Andrews.

@Lav seems like you and Shamus are interested in the same thing, as am I. Have you ever watched that show Ancient Aliens on History Channel? I love that show, and I totally believe. I love David Wilcock, he has a lot of videos on youtube.

You know what, Moonshadow? One day I'll have money, and you'll spend 1 week recommending me books, and then I'll spend the subsequent week buying them, and the subsequent decade reading them.

I'm pretty sure humans have been around for far longer than is currently believed. I did see Ancient Aliens, and it was truly fascinating. A lot of these YouTube home-made documentaries have a lot of footage from History Channel.

Atlantis was destroyed in 10,000 BC and they were around a long time before that!I'm sure you know about the Summerians, the Annunaki, and Planet Nibiru (Planet 9).

Moonshadow: Sounds interesting. :D I have a book on the history of the celts. They popped up around where modern day Turkey is.
For biology/zoology I mostly read about my favorite animals: Crocodilians. I know a lot about them but there is still so much to learn about the beautiful creatures.

The Celts (and the Druids) are some of the most amazing early cultures ever!
It's irritating to find out how each one who would invade would destroy the records of the culture.

Did you read How the irish Saved Civilization? by Cahill. Fascinating read.

As a note, on several of those documentaries: they tend to exaggerate/make up parts to fill in a narrative/story. On the bright side, there is an r/AskaHistorian and r/BadHistory on Reddit that can clear up issues/questions. :D

...I have been doing research that started on the Atlantis bit...most arrives at two places:
1) The Minoan civilization that deforested all their lands (cutting short their islands carrying capacity), suffered a volcanic eruption on a major city (Thera), and were replaced with the more "Spartan" Myceneans (Greeks). The Minoan Civilization was largely seafaring and good on technology for its time. They were Crete & Thera,

The other introduced me to prehistory (before writing, but not before sculpture, art, houses, or domestication of dogs). The Natufian/Harifian cultures (see: Jericho) would later become part of the Canaanites (see: Ugarit) that were rebelled against/driven out by the Hittites, Persians, & Jews. They in turn became the seafaring culture of Phonecia - which included Tyre and Carthage...which were trading buddies with the Minoans.

(On the other note, Troy is a different story - believed to be more Luwian/Hittite in origin)

...so, yeah, one of my earlier forays into writing was meant to explore this...and hell, the Natufian culture was late Ice-Age.*

I havent but thats on my to read list. Actually, I am heading to the bookstore tomorrow hopefully. I will see if they have that book still.

Most of my interest in Irish history is with Easter Rising, Irish War of Independence, Irish Civil war, the IRA, Sinn Feinn and The Troubles. So, from 1916 and forward. It might just be because I can connect my family to these parts of history? I dont know.

Have you had your DNA tested for your anscestry. I used Ancestry.com and it came back quite interesting! Turns out out of all the mixes I have I am 10% Irish!!!
