I took a linguistics class in college, and we had to write out how we would pronounce laboratory. So I wrote lab-oh-rah-tory.

I got it wrong because the teacher didn't believe me that I said that. I watched too much Dexter's Laboratory growing up, so I have always said lab oh rah tory! ._.

I alternate - my diction changes the louder/softer I am.

I loved Dexter's Lab! But I don't think it affected me enough to make me say lab-oh-ra-tory. Sad day. :c

In 2009, I noticed that Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo were both on Boomerang. It made me feel so old. T_T

Something in between seerup and sirup I imagine, depending on the sounds of the words I'm saying on either end of the word. Linguistics is affected by such things!

I never thing Lab-or-a-tory unless I'm remembering how to spell it.
