it's a matter of getting enough words that you actively use words you don't typically think of. Like, as opposed to big you can use: huge, large, immense, gargantuan, monolithic, oversized, or ponderous
eventually you'll be like 'hey, brain, these words are more fun than the boring ones'!

that's all expanding your vocabulary is, picking words that are a bit MORE than the words you could otherwise use :)

LOL the power of words! I wield it with authority and benevolence! (which sounds so much better than 'I say it like I know what I'm talking about and as nice as I can! ;) )

certain people haaaaaaate my use of words cause they think I'm talking down to them, but it's worse if I dumb it down*, then I'm talking down to you.

*doesn't count if I'm explaining something I said cause I used a different word, then i'm not talking down, I'm educating.

it's sorta like 'know your audience' if you know you're going to spend more time explaining and conversing it's just not worth it to use the fifty cent words.

allegorical- told in the manner of a story or lesson
elucidate- to clear up or make clear
juxtaposition- something that is opposite or contrary to something else
erudite- being well educated or well spoken
