i've always figured a remnant is whatever is left over when you're done your sewing project... XD

but for JoAnn's to sell remnants from a bolt....it might actually be less than a yard.

It's always marked on the label how much fabric it is. Most are less than a yard, but sometimes you can find ones that are mire.
Either way, it's a good way to find cheap fabric for small projects.

That's what they looked like. There would be funny shapes, long, odd pieces, or the odd miss-cut I think. I had one piece that looked like someone had cut half a circle out of it, with the edge being only an inch or so wide, with a couple triangle-ish patches stuck to it. It was red with sequins and I made it into a slit dress for a music diva.

I've looked at fat quarters but they cost too much for me to get a good variety.

I'm not sure if I should start another book right now with all the research I need to do, and the stack I have to go through for it. I'm a little sad that I don't have time to fully go over some of this. Maybe I can squeak in a complete reading of the most relevant (or interesting) looking one before the paper is due.

the book i've started (The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O.) is a long one (700+ pages, but the font is a nice size), and it's due back at the library on 10/14. i wonder if i'll have to renew it....?

I can't verify that all stores have the same sales, but the Joann I work at often has fat quarters on sale for 99 cents.

i'm going to suggest that my Michael's has them for quite a bit more than that... because we're not a fabric store. there have been a few customers over the past few years that were surprised that we didn't have fabric like JoAnn's does. XD

i've been buying some yarn at AC Moore lately. =)

We don't actually have AC Moore where I live, which makes me sad.

i even have a Hobby Lobby that's about 25ish minutes from me.....so that's four craft stores. that's dangerous.

We have Joann, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. But seeing as how I don't have a car, and all of them are over a mile away from my apartment, I only shop them when I happen to be in the area (so, Joann when I work anu shift other than a closing shift, and the other two, almost never).

Hobby Lobby does have some nice yarns that I want, but I'm not letting myself buy yarn for a while. At least not unless I actually need it for a specific project that I am working on.

yeah, i do know what you mean by waiting until you have a project you're working on... i do that too. =)

I mean, I have probably 8 large bins of yarn if I would get it all organized...
