dun has a sewing machine so I'd make it by hand.. where do you get free fabric from?

everywhere, friends family goodwill cosignment shops garagesales, you just have t ask and not be picky about what you get XD

no, i mean you take everything you are given ot just what you want, sure you end up with lots of fabric but it is a means of not looking greedy and it helps whomever

not true, things can always be faked and rigged even if you are short, i used to make halloween costumes from scraps and still do it with doll stuff, it only has to /look/ legit

Halloween stuff is different then cosplay.

To dress up as batman for halloween just need black and grey materials and a cloth belt

to cosplay as him you get hard Black leather with some grey fabric and buy a cosplay belt xD


to cosplay Kikyou from inuyasha you'd need to make the outfit out of the same material. proper cosplayers don't do cheats cause its all about looking like the character. one thing wrong with the outfit and its a fail.

I cosplayed as female Ranma once.. I told to person making my outfit.. RED COTTON.. they used some red wedding dress stuff that had patterns on it =/ I wore it but It wasn't a true cosplay

i have seen a lot of cosplayers and that is bs, most cosplays look like real shit >>; you /can/ fake it an make it look good, hard work and dedication is the condition of quality /not/ the material

if the shirt is a plain red shirt.. then plain red material is needed to cosplay it.


also to make a proper shirt from the anime you can't use patches of different materials you'd need the same material.

I prefer to get the yard of matieral that way I'm not using 3 different clothings that are off by a hue. that there annoys me.

Now if I were to cosplay someone like Kazahaya from Legal Drug then yea.. just grab baggy tan cargo pants, a black t-shirt, buy his necklaces and put on a bandana.

but for something like a priestess you need to be careful of how you do it.

I used to read cosplay cafe from the animerica magazines. they shown the real short cuts but each time it was with yards of fabric.

its why I don't cosplay. that and one other reason.. ._. I want to look like the anime character.. but I'm not skinny like they are so I dont cosplay
