I wish I could do that.... I asked to trade weekend days with the other worker. I typically work Saturday, and my Mom is going to be in Charlotte friday night, Saturday & leave Sunday evening (around 4 to 5), so I was asking to work Sunday or Friday so not to opt out of the weekend but just needed to not work my typical day so I can visit her.
They told me that no they wouldn't because I didn't get to make my schedule and that I hadn't been working there long enough to not work with them and that THEY didn't want to work on Sunday. I only see my mother around 5 times a year so it was kind of important to me but no big deal, I won't get the chance to see her again until some time in July. He also added in that he didn't hire me to try to set my own schedule.

Sadly, I'd pull a bullshit move of calling out. But I would not recommend that. It's not really a good idea. But that is ridiculous.

It pissed me off.... cause I asked to switch days not like I asked for the full weekend off.....
