I heard people talk about knitting? Unfortunately I don't knit, as I don't have time for that, but my mom does so I know a little bit about it. One can make some really great stuff knitting!

Serra: Yeah, I can't currently needle knit but I do loom knit.
I want to work on learning to needle knit soon though because there are WAY more patterns for that than there are for the looms. For example: on Ravelry there are 3,015 loom knitting patters.
And there are 443,179 patterns for needle knitting.

Glitch: But why buy them when you can have your online friends make them for you?

(oops, another one just got added when i was looking to see how many knitting patterns i actually have in my library. i have 87.)

on the other hand, there's 237,099 patterns for crochet.

Might have to look into this site when my mom is wondering what to knit or crochet then... That's a lot of patterns.

Well, Trystan, my point really just was that loom knitting, while amazingly easier than needle knitting (in my opinion) is very limited. Even crocheters have well over 230,000 more patterns on Ravelry than I have to choose from.

One of my biggest pet peeves lately is when one of my friends on Facebook will share a picture or pattern and ask if I can make it and it's a needle knit or crochet pattern. Because no. I can't make them and I can't convert them.
(Well, actually needle knit patterns can be converted, but it takes a lot of time and way more trial and error than I have tbe patience for.)

i don't post my creations on facebook because then everyone will want one. i want to crochet for who i want, when i want.

Oh no. What I mean is everyone else posts all these crochet and needle knit items to my wall and ask if I can make it. Not me posting stuff.
I do post my projects on Facebook, but no one actually wants the things I make.

Trystan: Yeah....I logically explain to the person/people EVERY time that it's not a loom pattern and I can't convert it. But they still persisted in asking for months. Haven't had any for about a year now though, so I guess they finally figured it out.
