Yes, there has. Many times, actually.
Every summer, I don't take them.
My freshman year, I had gone from 115 pounds to 95 in just a few weeks. So, for the second semester of school, which was five months, I didn't take any of my medication. I ended up failing three classes cause I didn't do the work. It was... gym/health, algebra 1, and word processing. I failed word processing by ONE POINT because I didn't have time to finish the final. ;-; With algebra, I stopped doing the work. For gym/health, I stopped turning in the health work and only participated in certain games for gym.
