It's alright Mizzy, I don't expect you to go easy. It's a challenge, if you went easy on us, then it wouldn't be a learning experience (at least that's how I see it)

I was just trying to stay away from the traditional "Reaper" that and I haven't had the time to read the Tris storyline and understand Nox, so that didn't really help me much.

Well, at first, I felt like the theme is just "note" and theme is sort of side factor and if it is in appealing colors and not all cheerful, it would pass enough as theme. Only later, reading your comments and how others made avatar, I realized theme is primary. Well, what is learned in tough way, stays. :)

So, I guess I didn't do better on round 2. xD Oh well. Proves I should stay away from avatar contests. I don't really do very well when going by someone else's criteria, apparently.

Yeah, we need more scythes on Tris. >.> But overall, a great round. Congratulations to Uma on being the top cheese in round one! Best of luck to you all in round two. :3

and I haven't even scored round two but its gonna be hard because everyone did great with that theme (much better then the nox one)

For nox I was looking for either "Reapers" "Spirits" "Ghosts" or even "Undead" would have been accepted. I haven't read the story either so it was a very wide theme covering (souls of the dead being guided to their eternal rest) <or not>

Which was Uma's Favorite?

Me? Well I liked Pogs best because it was so delicately beautiful but also with those closed eyes it has this sort of sleeping sense of danger about it. Like it was just meditating a moment...before reaping. However, Xun's concept was beautifully creative too. Many of the avatars had really special aspects or colors or just awesome touches I would never have thought to use.

Edit: One thing is that it would be nice to see all the royalty avatars together like you did for reapers and ninjas. ^_^

I am glad that Uma won I liked hers a lot. I guess a lot of people went more for souls instead of reaper since Nox is about souls.

XD also there werent any real scythes that I found matched what I was going for so I prefer to soul drawn to the lantern.

I knew the cards would seem a bit strange, haha. They were thrown in there for the "death is fickle" and "gambler" quality that I was trying to go for. I did try the leg tattoos; seemed too thin to look decent.

I come back and I see the scores. Oh my gosh, amazing job, guys!

Espy I layer tattoos when I need them to look thicker.
since they are a limit opacity adding more can change how they look color/brightness things like that.

Also-- about that tattoo thing. I agree with having to use it to make someting look thicker. But I'm curious, isn't there an item where the tattoo actually has a crazy blending effect going on? Like-- from black to white and back?

Nope, nothing like that currently. Stuff like that gets complicated and time-consuming for the artists because each shade of the tattoo would have to be recolored in separate places individually.
