I love using desktop more, it is easier to type and browse. :] Laptop is not comfortable to me, it is useful but it is not as good as a desktop. Mine load fast so no problem for me and this thing is like 7 years old already.

Mine is like 3-4 years old and is slow.. it needs a good tune up but I have no money.

I like my laptop.. its comfy and I can lay down and use it <3

Mine is pretty small, but I defrag my computer often.
Default #889
Defragging doesn't help RAM.. just the Hard Drive.. I defrag often as well... once a week as prescribed x'D

I want to get at least 4GB of RAM per computer.. *^*

How do you check how many RAM you got? O.o
Default #891
Go to your start menu, right click on "computer"

(this is if you have a windows)

then go down to properties :3

a window called "system" should pop up showing you the stats of your PC :3

my laptop runs on 1GB RAM.. I want 4GB xp
Desktop.. was about.. 512MB Ram i think D;

._. RAM has nothing to do with hard or flash disks..

RAM is what the OS and programs us to run..

Flash and Hard disk is basically what you put the crap you download onto.. Pictures, music.. in my case anime.. *pets my two 250GB hard drives*

actually~

Ram is primary memory- harddisks or flash disks is secondary memory~

ram is what you need to run programs yes-

but in order for things to work faster- you need to get the info from secondary memory to primary memory so it can run~ the faster you do this the faster your computer gets.

flash memory is more efficient at it's base because it's really similar to random access memory- except instead of going away when the computer is powered of- it stays in it's chip~

hard disk sometimes gets cluttered because of the way it writes to a disk- it has to jump from spot to spot of the disk in order to read the memory it needs to read so it can send it to the primary memory Defragging helps with organizing the fragments ((aka unfragmenting)) in the harddisk. thats how defragging helps make a computer faster. Another way to make it faster (while using hard disks) is to use better file systems. (all os's use a different file system that it works better on- but windows is finicky about only wanting to use the file systems made by microsoft)
