I use They/Them pronouns.

yeah, sadly my motherinlaw loves salt to the point where you can see the stuff sitting in a pile on top. it's gross and even when something is salted it gets salted again for posterity
Default #83
Ah yeah, I can definitely see how one could develop an aversion with something like that. Your sense of taste needs a lifetime to recover.
Default #84
I mean, I like salting my pasta water, and my rice cooking water, but even I know when something is salty enough.

to be fair though i love the heckin heck out of spice<3 i am the only one i know who keeps tarragon and mustard out along with the pepper and onion XD
Default #86
I would cook with more spices if I was allowed to cook more often and my parents weren't picky eaters.

are you able to portion out any food for yourself? even if it is just ramen and eggs a couple times a week for lunch it is good to get practice in
Default #88
I used to need everything with some sort of enhancement, but now have gotten used to not using anything to season other than a bit salt. It's actually seemed to help improve my sense of taste with more subtle things.
Default #89
that is totally fair too
Default #90
I can cook for myself, but I'm not really allowed to cook stuff for the rest of the family.

how about for now you cook for yourself? eventually when you are comfortable and have a fair grasp of it the smell might tempt someone into giving your dishes a try ^^
Default #92
Oh, I'm comfortable cooking, it's just I live with picky eaters who bitch about the smell of stuff when I cook, and who refuse to even try things.

Thing is, Mom doesn't use enough salt, and dad cooks things on too high of heat. and since I really don't like wasting food, it means I don't cook a lot, and I don't eat a lot of what gets cooked at our house, which then makes me feel guilty.

They may be softer than a beanbag, but they are also colder.
