Once someone sent me sweets from Europe

I promise if I ever sent sweets that they would be properly packaged in air-tight containers so as to prevent ants!

So, uh, storytime.

Several years (maybe a decade?) ago, I went to Taiwan, and was at my grandparents' house, upstairs, messing around on my laptop. Tore open a pack of ramen crackers and started snacking.

Many minutes later, I grabbed my nth cracker, then actually *looked* at the bag for some reason.

...Dropped the cracker, nearly screamed. The bag was, uh. Swarming with ants. The desk had ants. The ground had ants. I don't know where they came from.

...To this day, I still don't know if I ate any ants.

EDIT: I have another ant-related story, but I need to sleep since I just had a dizzy spell halfway through typing that. Fun shit and all.

As a small girl I took a sip from a can on the counter. When I put it down ants were swarming out of it. I was so traumatized I ran and hid and my sort of step sister told me they were going to live in my belly and bite me. I’ve never forgotten!!!

eek. i hate ants.

in other news, i just re-deleted 2000+ emails from the last 2(?) weeks from my email.

so i have what i call Swiss Cheese Memory™ - it's got lotsa holes in it! so when i sign up somewhere, i forward myself the email with the user name, and add a password hint. yesterday, i must have accidentally deleted a bunch of them. so i posted on facebook asking if anyone had an easy way i could get them back.

i use gmail, and there is a recovery tool, which i filled out, and then BAM all my emails are flooding my inbox and filters.

the problem is, all of these emails i've saved are from various points in time, and i have no exact date any of them were from.

i finally sent feedback to google to STOP recovering my emails. i hope they have stopped, i don't need the emails recovered that badly. so if i forget my thinkgeek or amazon password, i'll just reset it.

along the way this morning, though, it made me change my gmail password. now i gotta remember that every time i sign in to my chromebook..... XD

Fun fact, my yahoo email is set up with access through my gmail app. And I seriously have to delete emails 3 or more times before they stay deleted.

ouch. but 2000+ emails... four times?? ugh.

Yeah. That is a lot! I should probably attempt to delete my several hundred emails again tonight actually. They're mostly spammy stuff and yarn shop ads and sales...

the earliest recovery date i saw was 11/21. but i have crochet emails, political emails, emails for stores and such.... and i get comics from arcamax nightly - like about 15 or 16. and forum notifications from here and magistream. lotta emails.

oh, and spam.

not fun to delete them a few times. i'm half expecting that between the time i shut down my work computer, run a few errands, and then get home and sign on my chromebook, i'll have to delete them all again.

Ih man, that really does suck. Hopefully they stop soon.
