Uh, I have a question. >.> If I were to host a birthday party thread in which something was given away and I wanted it to be in someplace that's more visited, where could/should I post it?

my first thought would be that it belongs in charities, because things are being given away. however, you could probably pass it off as a hangout if the focus is more on your birthday and less on the giving-away. I've seen hangouts have small prizes sometimes.
do you remember where Cazz posted her birthday thread?

okay, I found her old thread and it was in the old nox nocturnalis event forum. so I guess that's another option, though it depends on how long you're planning on keeping the thread alive. the event is ending... soon.... maybe.

hopefully it won't be too bad. my mom's parents are....interesting. they wanted our whole family to go out to their house for Christmas, but they live in a tiny place and we would all have to sleep on the floor and be miserable. ;A; so since we didn't want to do that, we're going to lunch. no one's really happy about it, but I'm just reallyreally glad that my mom got them to agree to this arrangement.

Ooh, I see. Well, I guess they don't want to be completely alone at the end of the year, too?

yeah. I think they spent last Christmas with us, and went to the airport to fly out to visit my aunt & uncle a few days later. I wouldn't want to be lonely either, but I wouldn't try to make a family of 5 sleep in two beds, one being in a cold RV. D:

Well, they're old and they're probably lonely. They don't think so rationally anymore. Their path of thought probably was that for once, they wouldn't be alone on holidays, be of use, and make sure everyone would have good time with them/family would have fun together for once.
