I don't use actual banks. I use an online bank which you can set up yourself via Walmart for $5.00.
However, I used to play a game APP on Facebook and they gave me an offer that if I signed up for a prepaid credit card, I'd be given their currency (which is only obtained by purchasing), so I signed up for it. Free, of course. Found out 3 years later that it's actually the same banking card you can get from Walmart. The Bluebird banking set.

I do get charged $1.00 a month unless I have a direct deposit (of any amount) and it gets waived. And if you have like, 50 cents in there, then my monthly charge will be 50 cents. If I have 0 in there, they waive my monthly fee.

I can upload anywhere from $1 to 500 or 1,000 (I forget which) at Walmart free of charge and it's used as an American Express.

I have it and I also use Paypal, which is my default credit card (Yup, I have their business Mastercard credit card).

So... basically whatever I bought recently barely was enough and left me 1 penny, lol.

Woops, lol. I got distracted with also writing another part of the horror story.

Ah, I was thinking of getting one of those until I got a debit/credit card from my bank and set up a paypal account. x'D

Hehe, it's been nice. I love that the monthly fee doesn't have to be exact, especially if I haven't the funds (cause I tend to have money burn holes in my pockets for BOOKS stuff).

I went through too many banks advertising "free banking account" but they charge a monthly fee if you do not have a frequent direct deposit of $500 or more or keep $500 in the bank monthly.

I'm like yeah... If I could keep $500 a month in my bank account, I'd be ecstatic. Hell, I get ecstatic if I have $25 in my account, lol.

I have a federal credit union, they don't have anything like that. Have you checked recently about that, or was it just last you looked?
