@Galla, mdom is adorable, you just don't like rainbows XD or DO you
@Insomniak, the original was admittedly pretty ugly but at the time there wasn't much that looked better either. Plus, I just like gameplay over graphics. And I played the heck out of Civilization, all the way up the the current one XD
It's kind of ironic, my computer is pretty much a potato so I can't even run most games with decent graphics. I think it's more a color thing for me?? I'm a child, I can't pay attention to something without a bright color palette for more than ten minutes without gettin' bored lol. Skyrim and Dark Souls 2 would be the exceptions. And Banished too, I suppose.
I always thought the original Civ had a decent color palette, it's the later ones that go the more earthy routes. But if it's just color, a spinoff called Beyond Earth, which is basically Civ on another planet with aliens instead of barbarians, has pretty bright colors XD
If I had to pick, I'd say 4 is probably my favorite in terms of aesthetics. The first one did look really good for the time though, you're right about that.
And Beyond Earth does look interesting. :o
I might give it a go when I have some cash to spare. :D
I haven't even finished Skyrim yet, the main story at least. I've done some of the side questlines, Dark Brotherhood and all, but not the war or dovakiin stuff. I always get bored. That's gonna be my priority, it shouldn't take too long.
