I know. ;O; they could have been trained instead. trainers should be vegetarian so they don't hurt their poor pokemon friends. just imagine if you ate your pokemon's brother for dinner!

I think there are actual foods though because Bulbapedia has a section with different (normal) foods that have been seen on the Anime.

What's in Pokemon food anyway? Because I refuse to believe that Liepard eats only berries.

I guess I thought that not all animals were pokemon when I watched the anime, so there was food from regular cows and chickens and fruits and vegetables and grains, etc.

when I was a kid watching it, I don't think I ever really thought about what they were eating. but now that I am a vegetarian, I can see how it would be easy to eat herbs and grains and berries and not pokemon.
