She's a Con goer and a cosplayer. She's MET some of the VAs of our favourite characters. I just sit at home and read and watch stuff and occasionally dance in the video store.
And someday, she and I are gonna be hanging out in person, because I'll be flying to Canada to terrorize her and another friend in the city she's in. But yeah, I do conventions and build costumes...
XD I have to confess that the only reason I ever started watching ANY anime is because some of the 'Transformers' shows are anime. When I realized this, I was surprised, but it let me tell my anime talking friends that I DID watch anime. LOL
Also, it is good to know that I'm not the only one who writes "peeps be like".
Also, Den's not THAT scary. Except to that one VA...
I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places?

And then I introduced you to the Yuusha saga... GIANT ROBOTS!!! :D
lol Yeah... *gears up for story time* I'm putting it behind a spoiler, so you can click at your own discretion, but be advised this happened 10 years ago, and I've grown up a LOT since then. also, don't be drinking anything whilst reading.
So I was at my very first convention ever, in the fall of 2005. At the time, I was OBSESSED with the original Fullmetal Alchemist, and with one of the voice actors, Vic Mignogna. He happened to be one of the guests at this particular convention, and over the course of the second day, I'd managed to gather a group of fangirls of his together...
Now bear in mind, the convention center was HUGE. The Dealer's room had literally hundreds of vendors and artists and booths. Big, echo-y room. Keep that in mind. It will come up again shortly.
I lead my group of like-minded fangirls into the dealer's room once someone got the idea to see if Vic was in the dealer's room... Still not sure whose idea it was. Upon spotting him sitting at one of the tables and signing autographs, I let out a squee so loud and high pitched that it silenced the entire dealer's room, and it ECHOED.
And then I lead the fangirl charge. I was clad all in black, and at the time, my hair was dark brown, nearly black, as well. And I'm no dainty little thing. So picture this big huge, scary gothic-looking girl leading at least 20 other screaming fangirls right at you. That's what happened.
Vic, who happens to be a fairly tan guy, went PALE, grabbed the bodyguards on either side of him, and used them as meatshields.
And that's the story of how I traumatized a voice actor. He still told the story years after, and I haven't been to a convention he's at since, because I fell out of the FMA fandom, but I someday want to go to one, and ask him about it, just to go "Yeah, that fangirl who lead the charge? That was me. How ya been?" just for his reaction.
That's awesome
Didn't he also voice Fye in the Tsubasa anime? And sing that song 'Nothing I Won't Give?' *deep sighs shoujo-style* and he's not bad-looking either...
I don't judge. There's nothing you can do about celeb crushes and the only way to vent one's passion and frustration is squeeing and fangirling hard *nods sombrely*
I dunno about the character you mentioned, but yes, that's the same guy. His fans kinda drive me bonkers, because of all the stupid drama on the fansites... Which is entirely why I got out of the fandom in the first place.
Nowadays, I express my passion and love for my primary fandom by collaborating with artists to get my favorite characters tattooed on me in pinup poses*, and by cosplaying and writing fanfiction and fanart, and customizing the toys I purchase. :)
*I'm not joking about that part. I really do have a Transformer in a pinup pose on my leg, and will be getting another three characters in similar fashion on the other side of my leg, and on the opposite leg as well...
Hm...I actually managed to meet another Trisphite at Fanime once. That was...extremely interesting.
(princeofroses had been asking about art pricing on Tris a few weeks ago, and then I recognized her art when I walked past her stand, and went "Aaaaall right, which one of you is princeofrose?")
'Interesting?' That's- HOLY RAVIOLY THAT'S AWESOMERAD!!
Although, yeah, I don't know how I'd feel meeting someone I talked to online IRL. I feel like online and IRL are enemy territories to each other generally.
I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places?
I enjoy meeting online buddies IRL. Granted, most of the time, that happens at conventions, but on occasion, it happens outside of conventions. like Tam's and my friend, Sara. She and I knew each other online, first, and then we met IRL at a convention, and later, I moved down to the city she lives in, and for awhile, we'd hang out once a week.
Just really depends on the person, I guess... and Tam, how many times have I called when my 'net has crapped out, or some storm was causing trouble, or something similar?
I know it's irrational but I feel like online friends are too sweet for the Outernet. They'd probably get eaten in the Outernet for being sweet which is why they stay online.

You're the one I was talking about that I've talked to online, doof. LOL

Sweet? XD I'm not sweet. Den used to think I was like a sleeping kitten. Then she saw me encounter one of those kids who can't spell but are gonna fix Ur story 4 U.

I used to be that way, when I was about 10 years younger. Then I met people, and learned how much the world isn't as nice a place as I thought, and I turned into a crabby old lady who could give certain Transformers a run for their money in the swearing department.

Indeed, she does. And sometimes surprises with the things she sticks in the box or envelope. :3

Honestly, I'm glad it was you who went off on them, 'cause I was about ready to cuss 'em out but good.

...I would come off as very tired/sad...or panicked because of social anxiety (there...there are people! The Horror!)...or rather like a clumsy version of normal Law-ness. Well, and I tend to be mute in public...
Sometimes I WISH I could be mute in public. *facepalms at the amount of chatter that comes out*
