but yeah i agree with chocobo, i suppose the big companies dont really have the time to chase up all the individuals :s

and yes, but its an image sharing website. not just a meme only website, they cant control all of whats posted on it. its like the funnyjunk vs the oatmeal thing all over again :s

actually sometimes the copyright owners will knowingly look away from people profiting if it helps get the brand out

Especially small companies, I know the guy from Endless Origami doesn't mind his stuff being all over Reddit. It's how I found his site :P

though things like that end up fucking over the owners if they try to put a case against selling without royalties paid

yeah some people are fine with it, thats why a lot of people do capcom art just to be safe :P
